All Cash Raised Goes To Haiti + Cruzroja/Red Cross in Chile.
Some press on the track from London to Madrid to Paris to Oz & NYC....
"Amazing...very eclectic. You can definitely tell your influences range from reggae/dancehall/hip-hop. I’d love to hear more anytime, Your releases would be well-received by our eclectic audience. "
Wax Poets Magazine Brooklyn described as “The best and most exquisitely laid-out music bimonthly in America.” by The New York Times Style Magazine
'The 13th Tribe and their new single Negro are about as inspired as it gets. Negro is a tidal wave of musical and cultural influences, as they draw from their collective backgrounds, taking you from Africa to the UK to South America, to create one lethal cocktail.
Best described as a jazzy cha cha topped off with patois and scratching, the track is all about celebrating individuality and personal pride. You may not be able to make out all of the words but you can't help but get swept up in the rhythmic emotion.
The accompanying music video is just as colourful (no pun intended) as the song, using stereotypical minstrel-type images in an entertaining way that gets their message across without being preachy.'
Review By Hazard For Planet Urban

"How can you have a war on terrorism when war itself is terrorism?"
"If you don't know history, it is as if you were born yesterday."
“Americans have been taught that their nation is civilized and humane. But, too often, U.S. actions have been uncivilized and inhumane.”
"I wonder how the foreign policies of the United States would look if we wiped out the national boundaries of the world, at least in our minds, and thought of all children everywhere as our own."
“We need to decide that we will not go to war, whatever reason is conjured up by the politicians or the media, because war in our time is always indiscriminate, a war against innocents, a war against children”
“(Nationalism is) a set of beliefs taught to each generation in which the Motherland or the Fatherland is an object of veneration and becomes a burning cause for which one becomes willing to kill the children of other Motherlands or Fatherlands”
“War itself is the enemy of the human race.”

Help Raise Cash For Haiti
'Once in a while some great underground rap makes its way to my ears. This time its not the usual American stuff, like Sage Francis, Sixtoo, or Shadow Huntaz, although it has some innovative vocal manipulations and twisted beats like Shadow Huntaz. No this is some homegrown shit direct from Glasgow,Scotland, not quite the rap mecca, but it sure does breed some forward thinking electronic acts, such as our providers here, Eastborn on the lyricals, and The 13th Tribe taking them vocals and chopping and screwing them into some mad rhythms over his crunchy headnodding Southeast Asian influenced track. Big pressure from two great Artists, and even more props goes to them for giving the proceeds of this track to the Haiti earthquake aid'

On a Celtic Tip(ple) I just found this wee selection of Scottish,Irish and Galician (ie Celtic),Ballads and Airs,Jigs n Reels that i used to pass around Irish bars in Spain (it was always worth a free stout or 2 :).It features the melifluous and spine tinglingly angelic voice of Karol Matheson,The majestic Chieftains,Godfathers of Folk music and Bob Dylans best pals; The Clancy Brothers(they taught Bob D how it was done in Greenwich Village NYC in the 60s),the inimitable High Priests of the Scottish Celtic music scene (& of course collaborators of The 13th Tribe) ;The McCluskey Brothers,The raucous, sublime and poetic, Pogues and also The Ard Ri's (High Kings) of Irish Folk Music; The Dubliners.Loud and Proud they all gather round the still, simmering a lethal poitin brew with some well known tunes and some not so well known, kinda suits this time of yr.Hope u dig.Athbhliain faoi mhaise dhuit.
